This article is the result of a genealogical research that aimed to study the fight for the right to use cannabidiol in the State of Paraíba. Since the hegemonic paradigm of drugs policies in Brazil is prohibitionism, the use of outlawed substances, even for medicinal use, may be forbidden even though the law permits such use. In the State of Paraíba, a family, along with the Office of the Federal Prosecutors, have fought in court so their refractory epileptic children could have the right to use medicinal cannabinoids. Thus, we retrieve this punctual resistance to the marijuana prohibitive logics based on Foucault. We search for the emergence of knowledge on the resistance against the prohibition of marijuana use in the state. We performed a qualitative research with document analysis (discourse analysis).
